Wet Cooling - Plume Abated Towers

Industrial and residential areas continue to migrate closer and closer. Depending on atmospheric conditions, saturated air leaving conventional cooling towers presents unattractive or even dangerous visibility conditions should towers be located near highways or airports.

The wet-dry Plume Abatement Towers are designed to completely eliminate cooling tower plumes. Using a wet tower that provides cooling capacity and a dry system that provides hot, dry air, the Plume Abatement system reduces the humidity of the exiting air, preventing the formation of visible plumes. While this system is more costly than an all-wet system, the turbine exhaust pressure is essentially the same as for an all wet tower.
